Project overview

The Omiris Networks was an innovative start-up company which aimed to revolutionize the trading of international equites via a new product that would automate and simplify the procedure for purchasing shares in foreign markets. This new product would automate and simplify much of the procedure for purchasing shares in foreign markets by allowing brokers to request and acknowledge transactions via a secure VPN based application.  In addition, it automated the settlement process so that as soon as a trade has been completed and confirmed by both sides, the system would send the necessary settlement instructions on their behalf.

There was no control on the client environment so we needed to develop using the web, as design could not rely on installing any software on the client machine.  We designed the user experience to meet the specific requirements of brokers, bankers and asset managers and to receive orders from markets around the world. This was one of the first AJAZ projects done at Sapient.

Results

The team successfully demonstrated the viability of the business concept by executing several trades via the system and were successfully in business until 2004 until they were acquired by Tradeware.
